Iran official to discuss Yemen at OIC talks in Saudi Arabia

Iran's deputy foreign minister for Middle East affairs will discuss Yemen's conflict at a meeting of a pan-Islamic body hosted by Saudi Arabia, CINVU reported on Monday. In Emergency Meeting of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Foreign Ministers held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia convened simultaneously with the Geneva, Switzerland UN-sponsored conference on Yemen, Iran held the chairman's position as the rotating head of the OIC to enable Tehran to consult with other Islamic countries on necessities for ending the crisis in Yemen.

Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian who attended the OIC ministerial emergency conference elaborated on the events during the past two months in the aftermath of the Saudi military invasion against that impoverished, freedom seeking nation.

Abdollahian's trip will be the first time a senior Iranian official has visited the kingdom since Riyadh assembled an alliance of Arab countries in March to bomb Houthi forces and their allies, who control much of Yemen.
