The 6th gathering of General Assembly of Ahl-ul-Bayt World Assembly was started on Saturday in the capital city of Tehran, reported CINVU. Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani attended the opening ceremony and delivered his speech to a large group of guests from all around the world. The meeting is aimed at reinforcing solidarity and convergence to promote goals of Islam.
700 foreign guests from 130 world countries together with a number of Iranian political and cultural figures are participating in the four-day event. It is noteworthy that there are 50 Shiite ladies in the 6th General Assembly of the Ahlul bayt World Assembly from three geographical areas of the world. The present meeting is to award outstanding articles and the participants are to meet with the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
The Hizbullah undersecretary Sheikh Naim Qassem, Iraqi Vice President Nouri al-Maliki, Secretary General of Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq Ammar al-Hakim, senior advisor to the Supreme Leader for international affairs Ali Akbar Velayati and a number of ranking officials are among the guests.
World Assembly of Ahl ul-Bait is a non-profit and non-state organization which was established in 1989 and meets every four years with its members from across the world participating in the general assembly.
