The IDB established these Prizes in 1422H (2001G) to acknowledge and encourage the achievements of the scientific institutions. The 14th Edition of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Prizes for Science & Technology (1437H-2016G) is now available. The Prizes are annually awarded to institutions in IDB Member Countries in the following three categories:
Category-1: Outstanding scientific or technological contribution to the socio-economic development of a member country.
Category-2: Outstanding contribution to a specific scientific discipline.
Category-3: Noted scientific research institutions in IDB least developed member countries (LDMCs).
Each winner receives a cash reward of US$100,000, plus a trophy and a certificate.
