Press Conference for the Fourth General Assembly of CINVU

In a press conference with the media, the CINVU Secretary General announced the holding of the Fourth General Assembly of CINVU with the participation of over 200 international and domestic guests.

According to the CINVU Public Relations Report, Dr. Karim Najafi Barzegar, the CINVU Secretary General, stated that the Fourth General Assembly of CINVU, with the participation of elites, scientists, presidents, and high-ranking representatives of universities and educational institutions from Islamic countries, will be held at Payame Noor University of Iran, said: holding this event on February 5th and 6th, 2025, both in-person and virtually, provides a special opportunity for key discussions about the future of education in the Islamic world.

He continued, adding that in the guest section, representatives from 35 universities from countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Kuwait, UAE, Oman, Gabon, Uganda, Burkina Faso, Mali, Tunisia, Chad, Côte d'Ivoire, Tanzania, Norway, and Panama, along with many university representatives from Iranian universities and higher education institutions, will be among the participants in this event.

Najafi Barzegar, referring to the extensive activities of CINVU, continued: OIC with 57 member Islamic countries and observer membership from the United Nations and several non-Islamic countries, is considered the largest intergovernmental organization in the world after the United Nations. This large community has made CINVU the only academic network of the Islamic world, with a unique position in advancing educational, research, and knowledge-based programs and strategies.

Dr. Ali Karimi Morid, the Executive Strategic Deputy and Head of the Permanent Secretariat of CINVU, also stated at this event: CINVU's mega-projects, including the CINVU Evaluation and Accreditation of Quality in Education Services (CEAQUALES), CINVU Evaluation and Accreditation of Teachers’ Quality in Education Services (CEATQUALES), the next generation of the International Smart University (SuperUniversity), which will be created with the synergy of the capabilities of CINVU member universities, and the first academic super-application of the Islamic world (CINVU Plus), will be the focus of this academic gathering.

He added: discussions around CINVU's support mechanisms for educational, research, and infrastructure programs for the less privileged universities of the Islamic world, providing fellowships for virtual education to 500 Palestinian students, meeting the educational and research needs of CINVU member universities, benefiting from the capacities of medical and non-medical scientific associations and knowledge-based companies for producing knowledge, hosting the first Artificial Intelligence Olympiad and the first Sports Olympiad of the Islamic world, and establishing scientific journals of Islamic countries are among the other planned programs for this event.

Karimi Morid concluded by expressing hope: This event will result in a positive outcome towards empowering the Islamic world, particularly in the field of educational and research cooperation, which will create a significant transformation in the future of Islamic countries.

It is worth mentioning that the COMSTECH Inter-Islamic Network on Virtual Universities (CINVU) is an international educational, research, knowledge-based, and technology network affiliated with the Ministerial Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (COMSTECH), which is hosted by the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology of the Islamic Republic of Iran. With the idea of creating educational equity, CINVU is a base for expanding universal public education based on smart and online technology that by networking of capacities, uses the power of education, research, innovation, and technology, in line with the approach of helping to empower and advance the countries of the Islamic world.
