The Second General assembly of CINVU was held together with the first exhibition of CINVU, hosted by the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to the Public Relations Report of CINVU, in this event, which was accompanied by the formation of the first executive board of CINVU, the presidents and representatives of the virtual universities of Islamic countries attended the central organization of Payame Noor University with the aim of researching and developing the exchange of scientific experiences through cooperation around the world and creating opportunities for cooperation between the universities of the Islamic world.

Dr. Karim Najafi Barzegar, Secretary General of CINVU, said that the most important goals and tasks of this CINVU are to expand the relationship between CINVU and each other in a virtual context and said: "the second general assembly of CINVU has been held with the aim of forming an executive committee and finding focal points for the start of official cooperation between CINVU."

He added: "Higher education for all in the Islamic world and the realization of educational justice, depends on information and awareness that this network by accepting university members from Islamic countries and designating focal points through the universities themselves, this awareness and knowledge is done Gives."

Dr. Najafi Barzegar stated: "In the first assembly, the statute of the network was approved and the Islamic Republic of Iran, as the host of the network, accepted to manage the virtual universities in the Islamic world in terms of education, research, exchange of students and professors and technological cooperation between Take over the university."

The Secretary General of CINVU reminded: "The first step was the organization of universities, which revealed that out of 57 Islamic countries, 44 countries are active in the virtual field. 8 members of the Executive Committee can work with focal points in the development of intelligent higher education."

Referring to the plans for the 2020 academic year, he said: "The launch of portals and automation between member virtual universities for the exchange of students and majors online is one of the most important plans that will revolutionize academic communication and It will create virtual education and will be operational with the help of the presidents of the member universities."

Dr. Najafi Barzegar considered conducting a ranking survey of virtual universities and benefiting from the capacity of postgraduate studies and integration of documents between the member universities of the network as other important programs of this network expressed his hope: "It is hoped that with the continuous cooperation of the university under the management of the unit in the network, the transfer of knowledge and technology in the virtual platform will happen rapidly in the Islamic world."

The Secretary General of CINVU also said about the COMSTECH Scientific Award: "Every two years, the COMSTECH Science and Technology Committee awards scientific prizes to scientists residing and working in the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation that in 2017, Dr. Farrokh Aminifar, a graduate of electricity and one of the young professors of the University of Tehran, was recognized as worthy of receiving this award, and this year this award will be presented to him at the second general assembly of CINVU."

In this event, Dr. Pour Asghari, the Deputy Minister of Science, Culture and Social Affairs of the Program and Budget Organization, thanked for attending the Second Assembly of Virtual Universities of the Islamic World and called it a great opportunity for the advancement of science and technology and the goals of this network. He considered Islam growing and the messenger of peace and friendship between these countries.

Professor Zia Ul-Qayyaum from Pakistan called the 21st century the century of science and technology and referred to the plans of Pakistan University in providing virtual education system for students inside and outside Pakistan, the system in order to facilitate students' access to online classes and He knew the distance and invited everyone to collaborate on e-learning research.

At the event, Professor Saleem Mazhar from Pakistan also praised the efforts made and emphasized the expansion of cooperation between the universities of the Islamic world in the field of virtual education.
Dr. Ustad, a representative of the Virtual University of Medical Sciences, also announced the university's readiness to provide the necessary facilities for cooperation with other virtual medical universities.

Dr. Hashemi, who represented Tarbiat Modares University of Iran in this meeting, while appreciating the efforts made, emphasized the readiness of this university to cooperate with other Islamic universities.

Dr. Rajaei from Sistan and Baluchestan University announced her readiness to cooperate and carry out joint projects with neighboring countries, including Afghanistan, Pakistan and Oman.

Dr. Fatemi from the University of Tehran also spoke about the do's and don'ts of virtual education and the responsibility of this university for the requirements and welcomed the achievement of a common conclusion regarding virtual education in this forum.

At the end of today's meeting, Dr. Karim Najafi Barzegar's term as Secretary General of CINVU was extended for 4 years and was awarded to Dr. Najafi-Barzegar by Professor Qassem Jan, Special Representative of COMSTECH.

CINVU is one of the Networks affiliated to "COMSTECH",  the Ministerial Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation that hosted by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of the Islamic Republic of Iran. This International Organization is a base full of knowledge and ability, which strives to expand public higher education based on smart technology with the goal of justice, deepening and reliability of knowledge and thought, and educational, research, cultural and skill empowerment of the Islamic world.
